In 2008, Paul walked through the doors of Beca in Tauranga, New Zealand. Since then, he says they’ve been trying to get rid of him – without much luck!

Before starting his Beca journey, Paul spent seven years sinking his teeth into the world of high end residential and commercial architecture with a small Tauranga-based firm. Feeling the time was right, he packed up and embarked on the traditional Kiwi rite of passage: moving to the UK for seven years of work, adventure and learning.

At Beca, it was clear to him very early on that many of his colleagues had worn different hats during their own career journeys. “We’re awarded a great deal of flexibility here,” he says. “We have the chance to direct our own career path in order to gain experience necessary for the future. What’s even better is that when your colleagues know what you're looking to achieve, they help you connect the dots.”

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Paul enjoys advising our clients on a number of national projects, and keeps consistency, quality and efficiency at the heart of everything he delivers. He leverages the Design Practice’s core disciplines of Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture to deliver truly collaborative and seamless design solutions.

Paul puts his longevity with Beca down to the number of opportunities presented to him, the supportive environment, and the work-life balance offered.

Outside the office, Paul is a keen fisherman, enjoys snorkelling and has recently picked up clay target shooting.

With Beca, I have met and worked with people, in places and on projects that I would otherwise never have even known about.
