At an impressive 32,000m2, the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) will be the largest, most versatile conference, exhibition and entertainment space in New Zealand.

In the heart of Auckland’s CBD, the scale of the NZICC is unique in New Zealand. Spread over multiple levels, it is an innovative and flexible centre, with over 1,300 car parks.

The NZICC’s key features include the ability to host at least 3,150 delegates in a theatre-style arrangement in the exhibition space, a plenary space capable of seating 2,850 delegates, and an area of 8,100m2 for exhibitions. The exhibition floor will be the size of Eden Park’s rugby pitch, soared over by a 9m high clear stud ceiling.

The NZICC is also unique as it’s sensitively designed to fit in with its surrounding city environment, including heritage buildings – a completely new concept to the international convention centre market. The introduction of a pedestrian laneway forms a vibrant entertainment, retail and dining hub, complete with an adjacent and connected 300-room five-star hotel.

Realising this mammoth project is an exciting task. We’re contributing to it with project management, engineering services (including geotechnical, civil and structural engineering, and building services) and pedestrian modelling.
