The city of Perth is full of activities during the school holidays
It is undeniable, spring has indeed arrived. The weather is warming up and flowers are blooming for what is shaping up to be another wonderful spring in town for the school holidays.
Wildflower festivals, kids’ entertainment, and colorful installations, the city is in full bloom
From September 27, the Perth Cultural Center will come alive with activities, exhibits and performances for the annual AWESOME 2021 festival, sponsored by the City of Perth.
“At AWESOME, families can meet local authors, experience world-class ballet, create their own works of art and enjoy going out in our beautiful city,” said Perth City Mayor Basil Zempilas.
“It is by sponsoring, facilitating and supporting events like these that Perth is a vibrant and iconic destination; a place of possibility where great things happen.
The City of Perth launched its Perth Trails app ahead of the school holidays, allowing families to take self-guided tours at their own pace, discovering the rich history and interesting sites Perth has to offer. Perth Trails will be available for download in the App Store and Google Play from tomorrow.
Taking children and families on a journey through the neighborhoods of Perth City, the app offers a number of walking trails that showcase a range of historic buildings, points of interest and family entertainment – there are even has recommendations on where to stop for treats with the kids.
Visitors can also take advantage of three hours of free parking on weekends in three centrally located CPP car parks:

• His Majesty’s CPP car park, 377 Murray Street, Perth
• CPP Pier Street car park, 87-89 Pier Street, Perth
AFL Sealink Perth National Masters Carnival

Each year, the AFL Masters Carnival takes place in a unique location in Australia. There is a healthy balance between football and carnival events for the whole family. Over 1,500 people will attend the AFL Masters National Carnival as up to 35 football teams across Australia compete in age groups ranging from 35 to over 60.
The AWESOME Festival 2021

The Perth Cultural Center will come alive with activities, exhibits and performances for the annual AWESOME festival. Hiccups! by Windmill Theater will delight kids and adults alike, while KoBugs Theater Company’s Blinky Bill is on the Loose will fill the WA Museum’s Town Hall with music and bush creatures. WA Ballet Peter and the Wolf

The West Australian Ballet and the AWESOME 2021 festival present Peter and the Wolf. This specially adapted fairy tale is the perfect way for young children (and their adults) to experience the magic of ballet.

Throughout September, the Kings Park Festival will celebrate the amazing flora of Western Australia that flourishes across the state and the thousands of wildflowers in full bloom in Kings Park and Bold Park.
WA Opera’s Koolbardi wer Wardong

WA Opera in association with the AWESOME festival, West Australian Young Voices and the Western Australian Youth Orchestra present Koolbardi wer Wardong. Koolbardi the Magpie and Wardong the Raven are two very proud, conceited and jealous brothers. Located in Noongar Boodja (the southwest corner of Western Australia), we invite you to join us on a journey back to the Nyittiny, the time of creation, where love, loyalty, betrayal and jealousy are all pushed to their limits.

10th Light Horse Regiment

Celebrate the resurrection of the iconic 10th Light Horse Regiment, Western Australia’s own cavalry. This activity will feature various army vehicles, a team of members of the 10th Light Horse Historical Society in period costume on horses and a large contingent of military personnel. This will be followed by a Langley Park parade through the city.
